Face/Body Peels

WHAT ARE CHEMICAL PEELS?

Chemical peels lessen the appearance of blemishes and minimize fine lines and wrinkles. Chemical peels penetrate the skin surface, create a mild inflammatory response and cause the skin to gently peel. This process increases collagen production, improves blood flow and promotes the growth of a new healthy layer of skin.

KLAR Skin & Medical Spa uses medical grade chemical peels based on your skin type and sensitivity, our expert providers will choose the chemical peel that is right for you.

An in office consultation will be performed before any chemical peel treatment.

#1 Chemical Peel That Treats

Acne
Melasma
Aging Skin
Hyperpigmentation

Acne Scarring

What is VI Peel?

VI Peel is a unique, medium-depth peel treatment formulated by the Vitality Institute to address fine lines and wrinkles, scarring, hyperpigmentation, acne and acne scarring, uneven skin tone and texture, enlarged pores, oiliness, and other issues with skin’s appearance. Additionally, individuals with chronic skin conditions like rosacea and keratosis pilaris may benefit from VI Peel to reduce their symptoms.

Each type of chemical peel has a unique formulation that differentiates it from other types of skin peels. VI Peel contains a blend of active ingredients, including trichloroacetic acid (10-12%), tretinoin (.1-.4%), vitamin C (4%), salicylic acid (10-12%), phenol (10-12%), and a variety of minerals. Additionally, VI Peel contains numbing ingredients, so the process is significantly more comfortable than other chemical peels. In addition to peeling away the outer layers of dead skin cells, a VI Peel penetrates the outer epidermis layers of skin to infuse the deeper, dermis layers with these rejuvenating ingredients, delivering added benefits.

The result of treatment is an immediate rejuvenation and improvement in skin health and appearance common after receiving other superficial peels. In the long term, the VI Peel leads to increased production of collagen, elastin, and other skin proteins as well as faster cell turnover that creates youthful, healthy skin.

Who Is a Good Canidate For a VI Peel?

A VI Peel is a safe, and effective chemical peel for almost any patient. Unlike other chemical peels, the unique blend of ingredients makes the VI Peel safe and gentle enough to be used on all parts of the face (even sensitive skin around the eyes) as well as the neck, hands, chest, and back. It’s also safe for people of all skin types and skin tones. From sun damage to the early warning signs of aging, there are five different formulations of VI Peel available that are specifically created to address a range of specific skin health concerns. During a consultation, your provider can determine which of the five VI Peel formulations is the best for your unique set of skincare needs.

Additionally, VI Peel is a recommended chemical peel option for people with acne-prone skin who are currently dealing with a breakout. The VI Peel helps to reduce the length and severity of acne breakouts by decreasing oil production and inflammation, killing bacteria, and removing the outer layers of skin to lessen the risk for clogged pores.

While VI Peel is typically considered safe for people of all skin tones, there is some risk for hyperpigmentation for people with very dark skin, so patients should always consult with a trained dermatologist to ensure VI Peel is the best treatment option. Additionally, expectant mothers should not receive the VI Peel treatment or any other treatments with products containing salicylic acid or trichloroacetic acid.

VI Peel Recovery

There is no downtime after the VI Peel procedure. Actual peeling may last two to four days and can be easily managed. For the next two weeks, you should avoid any skin exfoliation, direct sun exposure, or touching or pulling of your skin as it heals. The peel works the best if you let it peel naturally. Once the skin has finished peeling and is fully healed, patients see visible improvements in their complexion.

The skin appearance will continue to improve during the next four-six weeks. It will become firmer, clearer, smoother, and younger-looking. After a chemical peel of any depth, your skin may be red, tight, irritated or swollen. Follow your providers directions for sun protection, cleansing, and moisturizing. Be gentle and refrain from using any actives including retinoids for two weeks.

This peel is suitable for all skin types, colors and ages. It is excellent for those with acne prone, congested skin and skin with pigmentation and scarring.
It is great to prevent aging as it contains essential amino acids and vitamins that every skin requires. It is just as well beneficial for the young skin during acute stages of acne, blackheads, with recent scarring.
Due to its extremely short downtime, it is a savior for those with busy schedule and frequent social commitments.

Why No Visible Peeling?

BioRePeel offers a "no-peel," zero-downtime experience because of its unique biphasic technology, which deeply stimulates skin regeneration without destroying the top layer.  Its lipophilic phase nourishes the skin barrier while the hydrophilic phase works underneath, resulting in stimulation, hydration, and exfoliation without visible flaking.
